I’m Back!

Ok. So, I’ve been out of contact for a while…yeah. Anyway…

I just took a trip back to the old homestead, (which was great, thanks for asking) and on the way back, I’m waiting for the flight on Alaska and all of a sudden a new destination gets added to the schedule! Now, the direct flights from Spokane to LA are pretty cool, as far as flights go, and I only sign up for those flights. They are slightly more expensive than the traditional Spokane to Seattle, wait an hour and a half and from Seattle to LAX or Burbank, but I figure it is worth it. Now, what am I to think when Alaska changes my direct flight that I paid more money to choose and they change it to a go-stop-go-stop routine? This calls for a letter/email/phone campaign to customer service. I will have more info as this saga continues…

Miscellaneous things

I know I haven’t been around…blah, blah, blah. Whatever. Get over it.

So. Nina is off at the races and still hasn’t emailed or called or sent me a letter. Feh. Kris is commuting to Paris or San Fernando…actually its a combination of the two called…San Francisco. Woo hoo!

On the lighter side is the THE COMPLETELY UNOFFICIAL MATROX 2-PERSON-LIFT MILITARY SURPLUS COMBINATION 286/LASERDISC PLAYER. This site demands perusing, so give it ten minutes, ok? My favorites are the lack of shuttle options and the unusual integration of the 286 into the laserdisc features. The language of the site is the entertainment, so don’t skim.

I also have an updated picture of the state of my room. This has before and after shots, which are entertaining. I give full credit to Katie for the inspiration of this monumental task.

As well, I just purchased seven laserdiscs that I just couldn’t pass up: Into the Woods, The Music Man, The Prince and the Pauper (Disney), Fiddler on the Roof (LB), The Little Mermaid (Disney), Paul Simon Graceland: The African Concert, and Do It a Cappella. I would like to link these titles to something visual and informative, but they are rather rare, especially the Do It a Cappella and The Prince and the Pauper. Do It a Cappella was made by Spike Lee in 1990 and is a documentary that was shown on PBS and can be seen here. The Prince and the Pauper laserdisc also has Willie the Operatic Whale, Peter and the Wolf, Ferdinand the Bull, and Lambert the Sheepish Lion. These are all tiny Disney cartoons that are not shown every day and are very entertaining. This link has some info on the disc itself, but not many photos.
