Updates and pictures

Normally, I would post a set of pictures and then not mention it on the blog, but I figured that not everyone would know about how things work around here. Well let me clue you in. The blog is for snap judgements, ranting, and other things that I’ll be sorry about in several years. I don’t normally post updates for the site, unless they are really cool and I want to elaborate on them. You want to see just the important stuff and not my ramblings? Bookmark this page. This is the updates page on the forums. Pictures, reviews, and general site updates are chronicled here. Blog=daily stuff. Update page=more important stuff. That’s the difference. Any questions? Comment here. Want to get an email every time the updates page is updated? Go to the forums, become a registered user and ask me to send you an email when the page is updated.

The day has come.

You all knew it would come. Well, I finally got a job offer from IKON Office Solutions Inc. starting on July 25, 2005. This is a momentous occasion, not just because I will be earning my minimum salary requirement, but I will be getting out of the house! I still have to do a drug test and send back the acceptance letter and NDA, but the hard part is done.

In other news, Katie picked up the new Harry Potter book and is currently on page 237 of 652 as of 15:44.

I plan on watching Bush’s speech tonight at 21:00 EST. Feel free to call and get my immediate reaction.

Monday Update

Got a possible new job lead. It is with IKON Office Solutions, a headhunter agency, suprise, surprise. So, I’ve called and let Alicin know I’m interested. We shall see. The Mindleaders thing still in the air as well, so here’s to juggling two non-existent balls!

Happy July 06!

I decided not to blog on the Fourth of July, like so many of my blogging brethren, and instead delay gratification until today. Whee!

Update on the job front: No calls. Don’t call and ask me how its going, I will call you. I’ll be setting off fireworks when I get a job, so don’t you worry.

Update on everything else: I will have picts up soon for the Ikea furniture, I just wanted to have everything done before I take the pictures. Since speaker stands are DAMN expensive, I’ll probably just take the camera downstairs right now, but first.

Has anyone seen the DQ commercial about the scientist who speaks bee?

Really very funny.

Katie is all over me to find the Fruit of the Loom commercial with the Fruit Guys singing a song about you can’t over love something. I don’t know what it is, but she says its funny.

I think its funny that I have an extended conversation going with my good friend SmkViper over at his site and I’m not blogging about it. (Click on the comments link, I’m in there under winterbc.) Anyhoo, I’m still here, plugging away at figuring out what life is supposed to be in Columbus, OH. Fire an email if you’re bored.

Internet Oversight (aborted)

I was going to write about an AP article regarding US government control over root servers. It was going to be a great little rant. I was almost done with it when the FUCKING power went out! So, I’m writing about power outages instead. From what I can see, the townhouse Katie and I are in has power outages at least once a week. Last week, we had an outage for several hours. We jumped in the car as soon as it happened and drove around to see how much of the city was out. It was just our block. The Eastern Power Grid isn’t exactly the most reliable thing, but this block is totally crap. So, there you have it. If you want to read something like my rant that almost was, go to SmkViper’s site.

LiveJournal

I know I already have a blog. Its on my own site, for crap’s sake. Its just that I want to respond to other people’s LiveJournal and they are all locked down unless you’re a user. So, I opened an account. This is a free account that gives basically some blog space and ability to link to other people on LiveJournal. Go there and see how it links back here. Woo hoo. If you’re on LiveJournal, add me so I can fill your lives with meaningless advice. Don’t forget to blast me an email, just to let me know your LiveJournal name, ok?

Job update

I know most of you are on the edges of your seats about this, but relax. I’m feeling ok about this process. I heard back from the seismic company and they offered the job to someone else. That’s ok. Construction isn’t exactly my forte, but it was a good thing to go in and interview. Always want to keep sharp on the interview process.

In other news, Katie and I went to Ikea today and got some stuff.

The MALM chest of drawers, a LEKSVIK bookcase, and a TV unit that is strangely absent from the website, but this was a sale and we got a great deal on all three items. (The TV unit looks similar to this.) We have set up the chest of drawers already and after we set up the others, picts from all three will be up so stay tuned.

Did I mention that the closest Ikea is in Pittsburgh, PA? Yea, we travelled over three hours to Ikea and another three back again. Stop the madness. No Ikea, no Costco. What is Columbus coming to? Costco was in Pittsburgh. C’mon guys, get it together.
