As I glance back at my previous blog, I realize that I was slightly perturbed at my lack of advancement at my current position. This is understandable, what with my rapier wit and winning personality, there is nothing to hold me back except myself. I shall endeavor to work on this attitude and will persevere.
Now, onto happier things. It is bloody hot right now, what with the humidity at 93% at midnight and I couldn’t possibly sleep without confessing to everyone that I am a great big ball of sweat.
Katie and I are in the process of looking for a house. This has been a good experience overall, but circumstances have changed my perspective a little. Originally, I thought a realtor was supposed to beat down your door and drag you all over town and pester you a little until you bought from them. We started with one realtor and she wasn’t completely responsive with our timeframe. Well, really, we didn’t call her every day and ask when we would look either, but she certainly wasn’t beating down our door. Anyway, we were perturbed at being snubbed by a realtor and we got another one. The second one is fine, just like the first, but now we have two. Both have become indispensable in their own way and we would hate to loose either of them. Well, now we have gotten down to specifics and feel that using both is unethical when we will ultimately only require one to sign the contract, so we have to choose. This whole process was like dating, though there was no hand holding or smooching involved and certainly no prospect of anything more…yet, there is a delicacy involved when telling someone that they can’t come around anymore even though you laughed at their jokes and smiled at their anecdotes. Anyway, I’m not really happy with any decision that we make since neither of them is perfect, but there needs to be choice.
Its still bloody hot and Katie is watching me type this. I’m pretty sure its because its too hot to be in the bedroom and we are too cheap to turn on the air conditioner, but my face feels like a sunburn had developed on it.
This is Katie: Ben has been so great about all of the changes that have been going on in our lives. From moving across the country to getting a new job that he doesn’t really like to buying a house instead of staying with the “safe” option of renting, he is always willing to see what will be the best option for our future (sometimes only my future) and go with that. I love him a lot. That’s all. Goodnight.
Meanwhile, I have had a great time tonight playing Halo 2 again after a long hiatus. For those of you interested in further discussion of Halo 2, come to the forum. Anyway, I got trounced by several children, and when I say children, this is prepubescent and whiny I’m talking about here. What is really amazing is the foulness of their mouths. Everywhere except for the Team Snipers game. Its really weird. Everyone is focused on being the badass sniper and doesn’t say anything until the end and then starts trash-talking you. Suffice to say, it was quite entertaining on many levels.
