FileSharing in 10.4

Katie and I have had a problem with backing up her computer lately.  I would try and mount her computer on Georgia, but it would immediately disconnect.  I scoured the web and finally happened upon this post in macosxhints.com.  It states that a file is missing and instead of 10.4.11 creating the damn thing, it just craps out.  How did it disappear?  I have no idea, but the kbook definitely didn’t have it.  I copied mine to hers and it immediately mounted perfectly.  I can only speculate that a crash somehow deleted the file.

SpiderOak

I just saw a post in the new additions of Mac software for a secure backup service called SpiderOak. This is a brand-spanking new service that offers 2GB of secure backup storage for free. Want more space? $10/month for 20GB. It works with Mac, Windows and Linux and I’m having a hard time figuring out the catch. Perhaps I will download it tonight and see how it works on Georgia.
