FAQ

Q: What the heck is your homepage? There’s nothing to click on?!?

A: The homepage is meant to be a break from the monotonous homepages of everyone else. The larger words are topic-based. Running a cursor over them brings up a sub-menu of options to click on. The homepage is designed to always be in the background and the sub-menus all bring up separate pages automatically, so you never lose your place. If the menus don’t work for you, upgrade your browser to something designed in this decade or turn on javascript, your choice. You could also click on the word, “scream” (as in frustration) to get the text-only version of Anything Binary, but that could be really boring…especially with no pictures.

Q: Why is it called Anything Binary?

A: I do offer part-time consultation services on computer hardware/software and network configuration. I am very good at helping people understand their technology and implementing it in their lives. Anything Binary is not a registered trademark with the USPTO, but as stated here I don’t necessarily have to register it. Anyway, the actual phrase refers to the binary system that every computer is based on: 0 and 1. On and off. Look it up, I’m not lying. The most complex computer can be boiled down to 0 and 1. I’m good with technology and more things have software than I care to admit at this time. Anything Binary.

Q: Why have you created the website in the first place?

A: This website is the primary source material for my life. It does not encompass all of me, by any means, but it is a primer into my thoughts and wants. You want to get to know me? Read my rants and blogs. Want to see some great moments in my life? Check out the picts. I am constantly directing people to the website for information about me. Don’t call me to ask how I’m doing or what I’ve done since the last time we talked, read the blog, look at the picts for that stuff. Call me if you like/don’t like the site or congratulate me on a job well done. The site is a baseline of information about me. Take this information freely given and build on it.

Q: Why do you have a blog and a bulletin board? Aren’t they the same thing?

A: I am currently moving to a single interface through WordPress. It has options for pages and a calendar (which phpBB2 currently lacks) as well as tight integration with the blogging aspect of the site. My goal is to have one piece of software to take care of all my scheduling, ranting, posting needs and this seems to fit the bill right now.

Comment: This site is a work in progress. Like all good things, it is always changing. I reserve the right to change my mind about anything I write and keep my original opinion at the same time.
